Mohammad Ehsan would like to responsibly represent the esteemed residents of Halifax-Bedford Basin West in the HRM Council. As an active community member in the district, Ehsan has remained occupied with various activities in the area promoting the well-being of the residents.
Ehsan is community-driven, compassionate, progressive and hard working. Empowering the citizens through participatory decision making remains his core principle fulfilling the day to day responsibilities. He intends to work towards making HRM a sustainable smart city.
Currently a resident of Fairview, Ehsan has been living in Halifax for more than a decade with his wife and twin boys. Professionally, he is a contract faculty member teaching Canadian politics and public administration in various universities in Nova Scotia. Mohammad was educated in Canada, Norway and Bangladesh.
Besides teaching, Mohammad has worked as a policy advisor and consultant for government agencies, non-government organizations and donor community in developing country contexts. He has worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Labour Organization (ILO), Transparency International (TI), Asia Foundation and other organizations. To serve the community in every way possible, Ehsan also sits in various committees and Boards governing few local organizations in the community. To promote the well-being of the community, he is currently spearheading an entity called Stronger Together – A District 10 Initiative.
